Niger governor calls for prayers for Nigeria in Ramadan

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has urged Muslim Ummah to pray for peace, unity and security of the country, noting that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of insecurity.

The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, advised the Ummah to get closer to Allah by engaging in activities that would fetch them more reward.

"Ramadan period brings Muslim Ummah closer to Allah to attain high spiritual values."

Kaduna varsity matriculated 450 freshmen for 2018/2019 session

The Kaduna State University’s School of Continuing Education on Saturday matriculated 450 freshmen and women for the 2018/2019 academic session.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Muhammad Tanko, said during the matriculation ceremony at Kakuri, Kaduna, that the school was established to increase access to quality education for national development.

Tanko urged the students to count themselves lucky for been selected from thousands of qualified candidates.

Niger governor congratulates Sen. Isah Mohammed at 71

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has congratulated frontline politician and former Senator of the Federal Republic, Waziri Nupe, Senator Isah Mohammed on his 71st birthday.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, the Governor described the former Senator as an ace politician who has greatly contributed to the sociopolitical development of the country in general and the state in particular.

Sani-Bello praised Mohammed as he turns 71, describing the occasion as a special and significant milestone.

Niger govt. calls for FG intervention in economic tree felling

Gov. Abubakar Sani-Bello of Niger has called for Federal Government’s intervention in curbing the incessant and indiscriminate felling of economic trees across the country.

He said that the act was capable of causing environmental disaster in the country.

Sani-Bello made the call when he paid a visit to the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Chief Audu Ogbeh in his office in Abuja.

Bobi grazing reserve is Niger solution to farmers, herdsmen clash - Gov. Sani-Bello

Gov. Abubakar Sani-Bello of Niger says revitalization of Bobi Cattle Grazing Reserve is a deliberate intervention by his administration to proffer lasting solution to the farmers and herdsmen incessant clashes.

He made this disclosure after a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Chief Audu Ogbeh in Abuja.

Sani-Bello who described the recurrent bloody clashes between farmers and herdsmen as needless, said the state was poised to end of the violent faceoff, hence the revitalization of Bobi and other grazing reserves in the state.

Hearing on validity of Sen. Na'Allah's candidacy adjourned again to April 15

The counsel to Prince Sule-Iko Sami, Usman Hajji, has decried the attitudes of respondents in filing their processes out of time which caused adjournment of the matter to April 15.

The Federal High Court in Birnin Kebbi, had earlier fixed April 11 to commence hearing of witnesses on a case challenging the validity of Sen. Bala Na’Allah’s candidacy for Kebbi South Senatorial District.

Sami has challenged Na’Allah validity at the All Progressives Congress primaries conducted in October 2018.

Justice Sunday Onu on Friday adjourned the matter to April 15.

Court fixes April 11 for hearing on Sen. Na'Allah's case

The Federal High Court in Birnin Kebbi, has fixed April 11, to commence hearing of witnesses in a case challenging the validity of Sen. Bala Na’Allah’s candidacy for Kebbi South Senatorial District.

Prince Sule-Iko Sami, has challenged Na’Allah’s validity to contest for a second term at the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election held in October 2018.

Two additional train coaches coming for Abuja-Kaduna route

The Federal Government has ordered two additional coaches for the Abuja-Kaduna rail service route to solve the passengers upsurge.

Mr Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, gave the directive on Monday during the monthly inspection of the ongoing Lagos-Ibadan rail line at Ologueru, Ibadan.

There was an upsurge of passengers on the Abuja-Kaduna train service due to the activities of kidnappers along the Abuja-Kaduna road.

Amaechi said the Nigerian Railway Corporation would move two additional coaches from Itakpe-Warri rail lines to that route.
