I'll construct Maikunkele road soon- Gov. Bello

Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger has pledged to construct Maikunkele road before or immediately after his re-election as the governor of the state.

Bello said the state Ministry of Works would be directed to commence the construction of road so as to ease movement of commuters.

``This is the first time I am making a promise since I started my campaign for re-election. I am making a promise to construct the Maikunkele road before or after my re-election to make the road accessible as soon as possible.

``Before now, when we came into government, we meet a lot of challenges in Maikunkele, there were issues of water and electricity, but I can say today that we have been able to address most of those challenges.

``That is why I am calling on you to support us during the election to enable us continue with the developmental work we started," he said.

Bello called on the royal father to support his re-election bid to enable him to complete the ongoing projects in the area.

Responding, Dada commended the governor for promising to construct the road and for ensuring that the area enjoy constant water supply and electricity.
